5. 2017 Essence: Love in Action

The New Year 2017 essence is called Love in Action. The central theme for 2017 relates to issues of power. How we perceive and exercise power in difficult times shapes our outcome, personally and collectively. A clear line is being drawn. The stakes have never been higher, for humanity and all creation. In each moment our choice is clear: to open our hearts to the power of Love or to fearfully contract and assert our willful arrogance.

The New Year essence opens us to the pulsation of Love within the heart of Creation. As structures and systems based on greed and manipulation crack open, we must draw upon a deep inner stillness to sustain the long view, to ground and sense our wise way forward. Assuming this quiet responsibility, we do not lose ourselves in reactionary stances for our intention is to align ourselves with the catalytic power of Love that brings healing and lasting change for all.

May all our actions be charged with the power of love. May each choice be rooted in creation’s wisdom. May we meet our daily challenges with practical ingenuity. May we greet adversity’s darkness with grace. May we seek beauty in unexpected places. May we engage all earth-beings with an open heart. May we trust the wise impulses of our body-souls. May love blossom through us as we fulfill our destiny. May we stand as true and strong as trees and soar as freely an eagle on the wind. May the living earth celebrate our presence, the ancestors rejoice in our life, and future generations smile upon us.
