‘Irish Essences’

The Irish Essences were created on a trip to Ireland in the spring of 2004. I was deeply moved by the aliveness I experienced in the landscape; when I tuned into the trees and the earth, I felt a subtle humming that was unlike anything I experienced in my Canadian landscape. I knew this ‘singing’ frequency was due to centuries of Celtic reverence for everything. Echoes of this sacred relationship with nature still echoed in the trees, stones, rivers and creatures I encountered. With deep respect for the Celtic traditions, a central part of my ancestry, I created three essences at Dunderry Park, a shamanic centre north of Dublin, and one at the Hill of Tara, the ancient seat of power for the Irish kings.
